Cupping Therapy For
IT Band Syndrome
Iliotibial band syndrome — a common running injury — responds dramatically to cupping along the lateral thigh, releasing the tight band without painful compression.
How Cupping Therapy Helps
The IT band and lateral thigh fascia are notoriously resistant to conventional massage because applying more pressure into already-compressed tissue rarely helps. Cupping's lifting and decompressing action, however, effectively releases lateral fascial restriction without compression.
Common Symptoms
- Lateral knee pain
- Pain running downhill
- Snapping sensation in hip
- Outer thigh tightness
- Pain after long runs
- Knee pain in cyclists
